Poodle Health
Raw Food Diet, NuVet Vitamins and Vaccinations
Nutrition for a long healthy life our top priority. After my father lost his dog to tainted dog food from China in the early 2000’s, we decided to really dig in and research many alternatives to kibble. We decided on feeding a Raw diet based on the prey model 80% meat 10% organ and 10% bone. We also add salmon oil, sea meal, yogurt, apple cider vinegar and some fruits and veggies. The results are clean teeth, wonderful coat, fresh breath and glowing health. When we do feed kibble, we use Fromm Adult Gold.
NuVet Vitamins
As a responsible dog breeder, the health of our Poodles is our top priority. That’s why I enthusiastically recommend NuVet Plus immune system builder to all of my customers. Simply put, it is the best nutritional supplement available today.
To assure your puppy gets off to the right start, they have been enjoying NuVet Plus every day as a treat (they love the taste). Continuing this daily regimen is the easiest and best way to keep your pet on the path to perfect health! Please order prior to receiving your pup.
Hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats are using NuVet Plus to provide optimal health and a strong immune system. A strong immune system will protect them from environmental and food toxins such as back yard pesticides, hormones, toxic formaldehyde in furniture and carpeting. NuVet Plus also supports proper development as well as a beautiful skin and coat.
This is not just a vitamin. It’s an immune system builder with a precise balance of vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, amino acids and high-potency antioxidants. That’s why it works so well through all three stages of a dog’s life.
For puppies – Fills the immunity gap all puppies experience. Shortly after birth maternal antibody effectiveness is greatly reduced. By 8 weeks your puppy’s immune system is at a vulnerable point. Once in their new home, the immune system is weakened by the stress of adoption and exposure to novel bacteria and viruses in their environment. This is also when the vaccine series is started. Vaccines are most effective if the immune system can respond properly. Starting NuVet Plus now is important to helping your puppy grow into a healthy adult.
For dogs in their prime – Provides the necessary antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals to sustain peak performance during the prime of their lives.
For older dogs – Helps provide the nutritional needs to live long, happy, and productive lives in their senior years.
We highly recommend NuVet Plus to keep your pet on the path to perfect health!

Vaccinations
In the last few years vaccination protocols have changed. I don’t vaccinate until they are 8 weeks old for their first shot. I then recommend shots be followed at 12weeks and 14 weeks. Shots should not be bundled if that can be avoided and I do not give the Leptospirosis vaccine to any of my puppies. Many dogs have allergic reactions to this vaccine. Only give this if it is a real problem in your area. Check with your vet. Rabies should be given as late as the law allows in your area of the country.
Many vets have changed to an every 3 year bolster instead of yearly. While this is much better, I believe a titer or blood test to see if they still have immunity is the best choice. Yearly vaccination has been shown to damage the immune system.
UC Davis did a study and found that most dogs have lifetime immunity after puppy shots and 1st rabies shots. If you think about it we don’t vaccinate our children yearly for the same thing over and over so why do it to our dogs? Rabies is something you must follow the law on, but the same has been shown for that as well.
I do however think a yearly exam by your vet is important.
